Corbett National Park in Uttaranchal. is Indias oldest and best known wildlife reserve. It is named after Jim Corbett who was a famous Hunter, Author and Conservationist. The Park has an area of over 525.8 sq. km. It encloses Patildun Valley of Ramganga river and foothills of the Shivalik range. The park is the home of the tiger, crocodile, phython,deer. Elephant, panther, sloth bear, wild bear, gharial, rhesus monkey, mongoose, and birds.For the Anglers, there is Mahseer, trout and goonch.
Jim Corbett National Park India had the proud distinction of being chosen as the venue for the inauguration of Project Tiger in India; . Corbett park is famous for its wild population of Tigers, Leopards and Elephants. Corbett Tiger Reserve has a great variety of fauna on account of habitat diversity. In the Jim Corbett National Park are found 110 tree species, 50 mammals' species, 580 bird species and 25 reptile species .
